The Committee of Saint Porfyrios Temple(Lemesos) Construction presents the concert “Way towards Easter”, on Monday 26th March 2018 at Pattichio Theatre in Lemesos. Nectaria Karantzi, the byzantine choir and the traditional orchestra of the Holy Metropolis of Lemesos, will take part in the concert.

Nectaria Karantzi is a unique Greek singer who has combined her voice mainly with Byzantine and traditional music and has been recognized as one of the most important singers of Church Music. Her first recordings took place next to the voice of the contemporary saint of our church, Saint Porfyrios Kavsokalivitis. She was invited to the famous List Academy in Hungary, to the University of Sorbonne in France and to the University of Oviedo in Spain. She has presented concerts in many countries in Europe. She has worked with the famous Hungarian singer Marta Sebestyen, Sister Kassiani and the choir “St Efraim male choir”, under the direction of Tamas Bunbo and with the Swiss choir “Choeur Yaroslav , under the direction of Yan Greppin. She has also edited the music for the multi-award winning Serbian film “Iscejinje”(The Healing).
The byzantine choir and the traditional orchestra of the Holy Metropolis of Limassol are under the direction of the musicologist father Nicolaos Lympourides and recognized musicians and hymnodists take part in it. For many years now they have presented concerts both in Cyprus and abroad.
The present concert promises to be a hallmark in our Byzantine and Folklore tradition.
All profits will be donated for the construction of the holy temple of Saint Porfyrios in Lemesos.
