The Project is an idea conceived by Dr. Marios Kyriazis and artist Christiana Charalambous, and organised along with Larnaca Municipality; it is an interactive exhibition that brings twenty creators together by combining the Arts, Science and Technology. The exhibition will be inaugurated on the 22nd of September 2017 at the Larnaca Municipal Gallery, and will be curated by Sylia Panayiotidou.
The main purpose of this action is to cognitively stimulate, to make the participant leave his/her daily routine for a while and become a piece of eternity, both philosophically and biologically. Quoting Nikos Kazantzakis:
Art is, in fact, a magic incantation. Obscure homicidal forces lurk in our entrails, deadly impulses to kill, destroy, hate, dishonour. Then Art appears with its sweet piping and delivers us.
From a biological point of view, Art and technology work together in order to regulate brain functions that combat human ageing, so they can help us live healthily for a much longer time. These functions have been described in detail by Dr Marios Kyriazis, candidate for the Nobel Prize in Medicine 2017.
The Arts strengthen the intellect and the spirit, making us nobler humans who rely less on materialistic and more on spiritual characteristics. In today’s society, science and technology must serve Art, and Art must raise the bulk of humanity to higher levels.
Visitors are invited to interact and to intervene with the exhibits themselves, in order to explore the peculiar relationship between Technology, Art and Science.
