Movie Mondays move outside: Open Air Cinema events under the stars!
The Larnaka Cinema Society was created in 1979 in an effort to bring quality cinema to the local audience. Over the years it’s delighted, thrilled and stimulated audiences from different generations and has continued in the tradition of providing an alternative choice to cinema lovers. Every Monday, the society brings the best of world cinema, documentary, independent film, animation and classic movies. Members and the general public get to experience great movies that would otherwise not make it to the big screen.
All screenings are made possible through funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture and throughout the year there are also collaborations with other local film festivals.
In summer we move to new venues: The beautiful gardens of the Pierides Museum (July) and the House of the Volunteers (June, August, September).
A few words about the movie The Farewell Party (Mita Tova):
Residents of a retirement home build a machine for self-euthanasia in order to help their terminally ill friend, though they are faced with a series of dilemmas when rumors of the machine begin to spread.
