Strolling Around Pafos Town Centre (Ktima)
The City Walk ‘Strolling around Pafos Town Centre (Ktima) takes participants on a guided tour of the newer part of Pafos, and offers an insight on how Pafos Town Centre has evolved and developed from the late Byzantine and Medieval times to its present day status as ‘Ktima’ (Estate).
During the walk, you will learn that the area is not simply a commercial centre where the region’s main shops can be found, but also has rich historical significance, linked to Medieval, Ottoman, British and modern times.
The walk passes through the four different areas of Ktima and takes in sights such as gardens, the Town Hall squares, Musala and Kennedy, Neoclassical buildings - including the Public Library and Palace Hotel Paphos - various museums and galleries, shopping streets and markets, religious monuments, and old neighbourhoods with their associated landmarks, such as the 1592 Ottoman baths and the old Power Station, which now serves as a Cultural Centre.
