This music ensemble of Basque musicians uses the txlaparta (a special kind of Basque xylophone made of wood or stone), not just as a music instrument but also as a linking factor uniting the musicians with the audience. Oreka TX use improvisation and explore the capabilities of this musical instrument in music, rhythms and forms going beyond the Basque tradition. The group was created in 2001 and its members are Harkaitz Martinez de San Vicente and
Mikel Ugarte. In their 15 years of work, Oreka TX have worked with important musicians and bands from all over the world and have won various awards, such as the Latin Grammy Award.
