“Museum and Muse”
Poet Kyriakos Charalambides converses with professor Euripides Garantoudis and the public.
How does poetry intervene or grow in a museum area and how do the two interact between them? How do exhibits prompt discourse or how do they become alive and pulsating through it? Cypriot poet Kyriakos Charalambides converses with Euripides Garantoudis, professor of Modern Greek Literature at the University of Athens, Department of Philology, bringing out the need to involve ancient exhibits in the overall restructuring and redefinition of the wider meaning of art.
The conversation will be preceded by presentation of the poet’s book Ήλιου και Σελήνης άλως [Halo of Sun and Moon], a discussion with the public and recitations of Charalambides’ poems drawing on ancient themes.
The presentation is placed in the context of the “Moments at the Museum” events.
