Guitarist Nikos Zarkos has shown a vivid interest in Greek repertoire for classical guitar. Following a series of recitals entitled “Greek Music for Guitar” in Athens and Thessaloniki, Zarkos continues his journey into the writing of Greek composers and he performs in Cyprus for the first time. The programme features four works – three of which have been premiered by the talented guitarist in the last five years – by the composers Nikos Kypourgos, Christos Samaras, Theodore Antoniou and Christina Athinodorou.
Concert will be held under the auspices of the Municipality of Geroskipou.

A few words about Nikos Zarkos
Nikos Zarkos has shown a keen interest in exploring the uncharted peripheries of the modern guitar repertoire, while at the same time he has been treasuring the Greek guitaristic literature.
Born in Kavala, Greece, in 1981, started playing the guitar at the age of 8 and received his academic training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (Bachelor of Music) with professor Robert Brightmore, and also at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg – Augsburg (Diplommusiker K.A. and Meisterklassendiplom) with professor Franz Halasz.
His discography includes two solo CDs: Greek Guitar Music of the 21st Century (2011, Subways Music) and Female Writing for Guitar (2013, Irida Classical)
