SUNDAY 5 ΜΑRCH 2017
FIKARDOU – KALO CHORIO (RIVER OF MAROULLENA)
Departure at 8.00, from APOEL training field at Archangelos or at Fikardou village at 9:00.
Starting point: the traditional village of Fikardou
Length of route: 11 kilometers
Difficulty Level: Category 2, Medium difficulty level, without particular problems in terrain characteristics.
The trail follows from the traditional village of Fikardou a natural environment rich in flora and fauna, offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and finishes at the river of Maroullena.
The area of the river of Maroullena is included in the areas of the European network of the protection of Nature, Natura 2000. It is a very interesting area with volcanic rock formations, endemic protected plants, etc, which is reported also in the CD “Troodos ….kai egeneto Kypros”. There are endemic and protected plants, etc.
SATURDAY 11 & SUNDAY 12 MARCH 2017
TWO-DAY HIKING ACTIVITY AT AKAMAS
EOS is organizing a two-day hiking activity at Akamas on 11-12/3/2017 for its members.
For the excursion a bus will be arranged. For the current members and for the people that will be registered members of EOS, the bus fare will be 20 Euro per person.
Please declare your participation for the bus by 5/3/2017. In case that the number of participants is not satisfactory by 5/3/2017 you will be notified so that you arrange your own transport.
Nicki Holiday Resort at Polis gave special prices to EOS, including buffet-breakfast as follows:
• Studio 38 Euro, can accommodate up to 3 people
• One bedroom 50 Euro, can accommodate up to 4 people
Please declare your participation on time by Sunday 5/3/2017 to Eleni (tel.: +357 99 067 069) stating one of the above choices.
The cost of the bus and of the stay must be prepaid by 5/3/17, by depositing the money to EOS account or giving it to Eleni (tel.:+357 99 067 069).
Food arrangements for Saturday and Sunday have been made in local restaurants.
During the two-days there will be a route to Avakas gorge, a route to Adonis-Aphrodite trail (Moutti tis Sotiras), a visit to “Vasiliko” winery at Kathikas and a visit to the church of Saint Kalandionas at Pano Arodes.

KYPARISSIA – GERMASOGEIA DAM TRAIL (LINEAR)
Departure at 8.00, from APOEL training field at Archangelos or at Germasogia Dam at 9:15.
Starting point: Germasogeia Dam
Length of route: 13 kilometers, duration approximately 4 hours
Difficulty Level: Category 3, High difficulty level, because the trail has difficult terrain characteristics (uphill/downhill).
It is a linear uphill trail along Kyparissos river above the village of Foinikaria at Limassol. It offers panoramic view of Germasogeia Dam and of Limassol and goes through groups of cypresses.

TRAIL AT THE VENETIAN BRIDGES
Tzielefos bridge – Roudias bridge
Departure at 8.00, from APOEL training field at Archangelos or at the trail’s starting point at 9:45
Starting point: Tzielefos bridge, 6 km from Ayios Nikolaos village
Departure from Limassol at 8:30 a.m. from Karseras supermarket
Length of route: 14 kilometers (with return), duration approximately 4-5 hours
Difficulty Level: Category 3, High difficulty level with particular terrain characteristics, like steep uphill/downhill.
The Venetian bridge of Tzielefos is the largest stone bridge in Cyprus. It is situated between the bridges of Elia and Roudia. The trail goes towards the forest, next to the dam of Arminou. It passes through the pic-nic area of Pera Vasa, where you can see the body of the giant pine tree of Pera Vasa, goes through the Cave of Saouris, the mantra of Mitas and near the vulture observatory.
