The exhibition “Today’s Architecture, Tomorrow’s Heritage” reveals aspects of modern architectural creation of the country through the presentation of projects which have been awarded with the Cyprus State Architecture Award (2007-2016), as well as a selection of projects from the Modernism era in Cyprus. What unfolds in this exhibition, is the architectural production of generations of architects who have been focusing on new, alternative modes of quality architectural creation which constitute our contemporary architectural heritage, a legacy for the present and the future.
Architectural heritage is an integral part of cultural heritage and this year it is promoted and enhanced at European level in the context of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage. The Exhibition is an initiative of the Department of Town Planning and Housing in cooperation with the European Commission Representation and the European Parliament Liaison Office in Cyprus and co-hosted with the Press and Information Office, the Town Planning Council and the municipalities of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Pafos.
