After a year of absence, the Kafeney Houseband was reunited for one performance at Technopolis 20 last October. After the big success the band returns for another performance, on Friday, 9th of December at 8:30pm, this time with a different programme, presenting colourful sides of the ethnic jazz music.
The musicians playing are Alkis Agathokleous (Ney), Ermis Michael (Guitar), Andreas Rodosthenous (Bass), Giorgos Koulas (Drums).

A few words about the musicians
Alkis Agathokleous was born in Limassol. He studied jazz guitar and graduated from New School University of New York. He worked as a guitarist with several bands in the US, England and Greece. For the past years he is playing Ney and other traditional wind instruments. He is performing and recording with several bands in Cyprus and abroad.
Ermis Michail was born at 1988, he started playing the guitar at the age of 14. In 2008 he was accepted at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Jazz Department). He performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2010 as a member of the Rotterdam Big Band. In 2011 he finished his Bachelor degree in Music (Jazz Guitar) with honors. In 2012 Ermis Michail won the 1st prize at “The Nicolas Economou Foundation (NEF) Scholarship Competition”. In 2014 he finished his Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts). In 2016 he released his debut album with his original compositions "Minor Change".
He is currently teaching jazz guitar at the University of Nicosia while performing in various projects as a leader and a sideman at venues all over Cyprus, Greece, the UK and the Netherlands.
Andreas Rodosthenous was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1977. He started music by playing the electric and acoustic guitar. At the age of sixteen he started playing the electric bass. In the year of 1999 he started taking lessons with the bass player "Gabriel Karapatakis" where he got his first influences in jazz. Later on he travelled to Greece and had lessons from "Yiotis Kiourtsoglou" the famous bass player in Athens! Andreas recorded then two cd with the famous guitar player "Christoforos Krokidis" and on one of them "Vasilis Papakostantinou" is singing. During that time he toured in London to play in the "Piccadilli Theater" with the singer "Michalis Xatzigiannis". In 2003 he took the audition in the Rotterdam's Conservatory and he was the only one in his year to pass the exam. He studied with the great bass player Pieter Douma. In December 2004 he formed a band and toured in Switzerland along with eight dancers for concerts arranged by the foundation "Janyce". Since then he played in many theaters and jazz clubs in the Netherlands, including the "Bimhuis" in Amsterdam, "Dizzy" jazz club, "Theater de Evenaar", "The White Elephant" all in Rotterdam, "Concordia" theater in Enschede and many others. In 2005 he and four others (Thierry Castel, Rob Vriens, Ulas Aksuenger and Jasper van Damme) started the band "EnaSes" were they play eastern traditional music but also original compositions. In September 2006 he played at the "Paradise Place Jazz festival" with the band "Juba", with the English guitar player Philip Pearson, Giorgos Koulas (drums) from Limasol and Marios Takoushis (piano)from Nicosia were among others, Gilad Atzmon, Christos Raphaelides and Mete Erker played. In October 2006 he travelled to Rio de Janeiro for a tour with Anna Εlis de Jong and the "Jobim project". June 2008 he played with the dub band «Brass Wood and Wires» at the Fusion Festival in Germany.
George Koulas drummer, percussionist, performer and music creator, has been active playing and creating music for the last 30 years in Cyprus and abroad. George graduated at Codarts in 2002. He has been collaborating during his long and active career with numerous artists. He has been performing in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, New Orleans, Boston etc.
