Christmas in Cyprus, is perhaps the biggest religious celebration of all and the Christmas spirit can be felt every year all over the island, with various events and festivities.
Lefkosia, like all the other towns, will soon turn festive for the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations and is inviting you to join in the fun.

Christmas Avenue

After the great success of the Christmas Avenue event during the last three years, The Lefkosiazo Network and The Nicosia Municipality are planning GREAT EVENTS for Christmas 2016. This year, the decoration of «Christmas Avenue " will be special and reinforced. Makarios Avenue will be transformed into a beautiful Christmas village, with cozy , wooden little houses, Christmas trees and decorations, Christmas fairs, choirs, performances, a Luna Park for our little ones, a rich festive program with music and dancing and lots of surprises. The event aims to create an original Christmas event in the center of the city, that will not only offer to children and adults a great form of entertainment, but will also help to stimulate the commercial center of the capital.
Chrysaliniotissa Arts & Craft Centre

This year the Chrysaliniotissa Arts & Craft Centre, will organise a three-day celebration for Christmas, starting on Friday, 16 December and ending on Sunday, 18 December. It will host Christmas activities for children and adults, offering the joy of Christmas, inside and out of the capital’s old town walls.
The Centre is situated in the historic district of Taht-El-Kale in the old Lefkosia and hosts artists of both old and new innovative arts. The visitor can find there, ceramics, paintings, sculptures acrylic (plexi-class), Digital Art paintings, glass products, wood and fabric and enjoy vegetarian dishes at Inga’s restaurant. Friday, the 16th of December will be dedicated to the children, starting at 16:00 with a greeting from the Mayor of Lefkosia and continuing with the choir of St. Cassianos Primary School and creative activities for children. On Saturday, the 17th of December, activities will begin at 10:30 with fairytale narration, followed by creative activities for children (piniata also), while at 15.00 you can enjoy a presentation of the workshop En-Technis, with beautiful songs. On Saturday evening, at 17:00, visitors will be able to attend a fashion show and participate in a wine tasting, accompanied by DJ’s music. Finally, on Sunday 18th of December, the workshop will join the Christmas market of the neighborhood, between 10:00 to 20:00. At 11:00 a workshop for children will be held and at 12:00 the Windcraft band will play magical Christmas songs.
Pop Up Festival - City Plaza

For the 4th consecutive year, the Nicosia Municipality organises the Pop Up Festival in Makarios Avenue. For six weeks, in the most central area of the capital, young entrepreneurs, creators, artists, artisans and other professionals, will present their innovative ideas, will demonstrate their work and will come in touch with the public of the town.
