From November 2 to 9, 2017, the children choir "Otrada" will give a series of concerts in Cyprus.
The choir of the Orthodox Children's orphanage "Otrada" will take part in cultural events dedicated to the celebrations of the "National Unity Day", the celebrations of "The Day of the Virgin Mary of Kazan" and the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, that will be held in Cyprus.

The repertoire of the choir consists of Russian and foreign ecclesiastical and classical music.
This unique musical-dancing company consists of orphan girls who found a warm roof and heart care at the orthodox orphanage "Otrada" of the St. Nicholas Monastery in Chernoostrovsk (province of Kaluga).
The “Otrada” orphanage was founded with the blessings of His Holiness, the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexey the 2nd, in St. Nicolas' Women's Monastery in Chernoostrovsk in 1994. In 2000 the orphanage has established a children choir.
The choir has participated in many international festivals and concerts, members of the choir took part in performances in Tel Aviv, the Gorn Monastery in Israel, the Moniria Monastery in Greece, in Cyprus, in Larnaca and Limassol, in Bari, Loretto and Terracino, Italy, in Segovia, Spain, in Vienna, Salzburg, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Cannes, Thessaloniki and Athens. The choir represented the Russian culture in Israel, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, France, FYRoM, Bulgaria, Belarus, Abkhazia and Armenia. During the orthodox festivities, the choir performs concerts in holy temples, museums, conservatories, as well as in social and medical centers.
The choir was honored with the state award of the "Art of Performance" foundation, and received the first prize at the 8th International Orthodox Music Festival "Christmas Song", as well as several distinctions at various festivals of orthodox music.
