The exhibition titled ‘UNSEEN VIEWS’ presents positions toward the urbanity of the contemporary city defined and presented through the photography lens of the Architect who searches, reveals and presents the panoramic, the bizarre, the different, the ‘perceived from another perspective’, the contradictory, all that escapes the everyday perception and view of reality through the naked eye.
In the last instance, his work attempts to capture and present views that highlight the distinct character and particularities of the urban city and at the same time inspire and activate the reader-viewer toward a detachment from his everyday bland image of his city, and force him to tour, to discover and re-experience the city in a different sight.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 19.30 and will run until 28 February 2018.
Charis Solomou was born in Lefkosia in 1982. He completed his studies at School of Architecture of the University of Patra in 2006 with his interest and passion for architectural photography beginning to flourish at the same time. He establishes his own architectural studio in Lefkosia in 2012, while in parallel participates at national and international architectural competitions with a considerable degree of success in winning numerous prizes and distinctions.
Parallel to practicing architecture, Charis is involved as a part time academic at the School of Architecture of Frederick University with interest in research and teaching of computational design and fabrication, parametric design, advanced representation techniques focused on architectural design process.
Within the bounds of his studies in architecture, the practice in Cyprus and extensive traveling abroad, his work strives for alternative ways of describing the city were concealed, unseen characteristics and particularities of the urban experience, begin to become apparent through the photographic lens. His photographic portfolio focuses on well-known landmark buildings as well as thematic compositions of anonymous architecture. The light and shadows, texture, the geometrical characteristics of space and the morphological elements of buildings are considered in the expression of their unique identity and presence in the built environment of the city.
