Following it’s great success in Athens and Thessaloniki, “Caligula”, one of the greatest plays by Nobel Prize winner, Albert Camus, will be presented at “ KYPRIA International Festival” The play, directed by Aliki Danezi Knutsen, with Yiannis Stankoglou in the leading role and Stela Fyrogeni as Caesonia, includes a cast 13 actors and original live music by Blaine Reininger of Tuxedomoon.
Aliki Danezi Knutsen directs one of the most important plays of the 20th century, realizing on stage Caligula’s dramatic path to death, not as an act of insanity but rather as an act of "self-sacrifice". After the loss of his sister and mistress Drusilla, the Roman Emperor Caligula is driven to the brink of paranoia.
