A precocious young boy comes of age amidst the drama of a village on the boil. In a seemingly idyllic Cypriot village, twelve-year-old Socrates finds himself in the centre of a murder investigation that exposes a dark family secret and changes his life forever.
This is the first feature film of the director and has already won important awards abroad.
The film is presented by AMP FILMWORKS and it is a touching, dramatic film based on the book "The Land of the Golden Apple" by the English-speaking Eve Makis. The film was first presented at the Rome Film Festival and subsequently at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
It is awarded at the European Cinema Panorama Film Festival in Greece as the Best Film Award (November 2016) and at the Festival Du Grain A Demoudre as the Best Film Young Jury Cinephile Award, also in November 2016, in France. The director was also a candidate for the IRIS 2017 Greek Academy of Film Awards as Best Newcomer.
