Location: Fyti village , birthplace of the famous woven textiles "Fithkiotika", Pafos District
The event is organised by the Community of Fyti and by the Laona Foundation for the Conservation and Regeneration of the Cypriot Countryside. It is funded by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and it is under the auspices of the Cyprus National Commission for Unesco.
Daily schedule of the event (free of charge):
- 'I walk in the alleys of Fyti" (optional tour), passing through the houses of Fyti weavers and art studios.
- Visit to the Cultural Center. Watch a short film about "Fithkiotiko", an exhibition for textiles and a lecture by the traditional textile researcher, Julia Astraiou, which will be repeated every Friday, Saturday and Saturday at 18:30 and Sunday at 16.00. (for English speaking visittors 17.30 Friday - Saturday).
- The walk ends at the village square (Community Museum and "Voufa" Exhibition Center).
The Cultural Center and the Houses will be open from 11.00 to 20.00.
In the square, there are two entertainment venues, where visitors can find traditional dishes.
