EPILOGI Cultural Movement celebrates its twentyfifth year as one of the largest choir associations in Cyprus, with a musical theatre performance entitled "A Festive, Starlit Evening". Three main singers, a seventy member children's choir, an 11-member orchestra, and five actors will present a fairytale-like performance inspired by the world of fantasy and children's fairytales.
Songs for children. For those children that have grown old and those who have remained young at heart. Fairytale songs opening up doors to a magical world.
A contemporary, minimal scenic composition, aiming to create a festive atmosphere right from the theatre entrance up to the stage.
The Story:
In a mysterious, Tim Burtonish country, a prince (Thodoris Voutsikakis) is very unhappy and a tree has grown in the place of his heart. He decides to organise a feast in order to find the one to tell him the tale that will cure his heart. Many pass by, with tons of tales to be told, French clowns, fairies who have lost their magical abilities, elves who know no tales, painters obsessed with portraiture, musicians with invisible instruments and many others. Seventy children - members of the choir- are the constant audience in his feast, as they accompany the hero through his efforts to narrate all the tales he knows and to sing them all the songs he has ever known. In the end, only the fairytale sung by the voice of his beloved (Marina Satti) will cure him, and the real feast will begin, leading to the grand finale.
