A dialogue between writers / poets and the history / culture of Cyprus
a dedicated event on Federico García Lorca
one theatre director, actors, musicians
in venues directly connected to art / culture disciplines; museum, theatre, music academy
Keeping this in mind and together with one of its key objectives the tightening of the relations of writers worldwide, Ideogramma, is organising the third edition of the International Literary Festival, to the sea-girt shores of Cyprus, with one major innovation. All the events of the Festival, will connect literature with visual art, the theatre and music, in their respective ‘homes’.
Launched at the second edition of the festival, in 2015, the festival hosts a dedication to literature and authors from a specific area-country, in order to offer the Cyprus public a wider knowledge and a deeper understanding of their work. This edition of the Festival will host a tribute to the lyric Federico García Lorca, who is being celebrated 80 years from its death.
Additionally, the Festival will also host ‘a dialogue’ between the authors-participants and the history of Lefkosia, Cyprus. And for this reason, the authors will be invited to ‘visit’ the Leventis Municipal Museum in Lefkosiat or a painting or whatever inspires them and write, either a poem or a short text to be read at the event that will take place at the Museum (3 November).
